Mary Elizabeth Kathleen “Kay” Hutt (Nee Bailey) July 14, 1930 - February 2, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kay Hutt on Friday, February 2, 2024, with family at her side in Winchester District Memorial Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Herman Hutt. Loving Mom of Marilyn (Wayne) Greer of Perth, Dorothy Hutt (Stephen Thorne) of Manotick, Edward Hutt (Sherry) of Winchester and Valarie (Jerry) Lapierre of Ottawa. Cherished Grandma of Amanda (Adam), Ashley (Justin), Rick (Tasha), Todd (Larissa) and her great-great grandchildren, Luke, Devan, Taylor, Adyen, Jalynn and Amelia. Dear sister of the late Louis (late Theresa) Bailey, late Norman (Audrey) Bailey, Leah Blakely (late Jim), Edith Wood (late Bert), Joyce Menard (late Raymond), late Walter (Doreen) Bailey, Liz Asselin (Jacques) and Ann Blair (late Alan/Sam). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth (Lybia) Sauvé and John H. D. Bailey.

A pure heart and a gentle soul, she was respected and beloved by virtually all who were fortunate enough to cross her path. She was blessed with country charm, an understated elegance, and simple, profound wisdom. She was a devoted and hard-working wife, mother and hospital worker who overcame daunting challenges with grace and unflinching determination. It left her with a deep appreciation for life and the peace and happiness she ultimately found. A keen observer of people and of life, she had the rare ability to connect with most anyone. She was kind, tolerant and generous of spirit. She remained active, independent and engaged for every one of her 93 years, vacationing with family, baking pies, pursuing hobbies, going on group walks around her Winchester neighbourhood, and keeping abreast of local and international news, weather and sports. She leaves behind a family, friends and neighbours who will miss her deeply and will forever hold her close in their hearts.

A celebration of life will be held at the Mountain Township Agricultural Hall 2967 Lough Road, South Mountain on Saturday May 11, 2024 from 1 to 4 p.m.
A private burial will take place in the spring.  Donations may be made in memory of Kay to the Winchester District Memorial Hospital or the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Online condolences may be made at www.byersfuneralhomeinc.ca
