Debbie and I became fast friends when she spent time with her grandfather, Frank Lawrence. I felt like his granddaughter too. Debbie and I had sleepovers when her parents operated the Roebuck store. Her Dad, Bob, often had to tell us to pipe down when we were giggling and talking too late. Even in high school we continued to be besties and confidantes. I have many, many good memories of the time we spent together. The last time I saw Debbie was at the 50th anniversary of South Grenville DHS. RIP Debbie.

An absolutely genuinely warm beautiful woman. Debbie gave us our 1st mortgage and since she lived just down the road would check on us from time to time. Later she drove our boys to high school and really was the best driver they ever had. She looked after all those who knew her, she made everyone feel welcome around her. She will be missed in our community, heaven definitely gained an angel. Condolences to her family, you are in ours thoughts and prayers.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Merv and family. Deb was so much to so many. My first encounter was as a fledgling bus driver where Deb ,aka Diesel Deb quickly made an impact. She cared for her riders as she would her own family. Her smile was infectious and always uplifting. You will always live in our hearts. Rest In Peace my friend.

Dearest Krista, Meah and the rest of Deb’s family, please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. As Meah’s Kindergarten teacher, I had the pleasure of meeting Deb last year. Each morning after her bus route she would come in to give Meah a hug. All of our students called her ‘Grandma Deb’ and more than one got a morning hug from her. I was often the lucky recipient of her hugs as well. She was a kind and gentle soul who showed genuine care and interest in everyone she met. I am so grateful our paths crossed and will miss our morning chats. Sending hugs, strength and prayers to you all. Be at peace Deb. Xo
