Shirley was a resident of Mountain and Winchester for the last 52 years. Shirley passed away peacefully at the Dundas Manor at the age of 89. Shirley was a stay-at-home Mom until the opening of the Dundas Manor where she went to work as a Health Care Aid. October 3rd, 1952, she married Walter Billings, and they started their life together. Shirley enjoyed gardening making preserves, but her true chore was taking care of Walter and the four boys. Later in life she enjoyed giving care and fulfillment to the residents of Dundas Manor. Shirley is survived by her three sons Tim, Jamie (Kim) and Doug (Janet). She was predeceased by her devoted husband Walter and her son Ron. She was a fortunate lady to have 12 grand children 13 great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to a public visitation which will be held at the Byers Funeral Home, 2990 Church Street, South Mountain, Ontario (613-989-3836) on Saturday May 24, 2025 from 11 a.m. with a Funeral Service to follow in the Chapel at 1 p.m. Interment Knights Cemetery on Van Camp Road.

    Your mom was a wonderful woman. She was my late Aunt Mary’s (MacAskill) table mate for many years at Dundas Manor. They were full of laughter. I’m sure they are creating lots of laughter upstairs now.
