Mildred Nancy (Belford) Roy-Sumler

With her family by her side, Milly slipped peacefully away into eternal rest.

Milly loved life. Milly loved being busy. Milly loved Happy Hour! She was blessed to have so many people in her life that she cared about.

She was devoted to and adored her family: her husband and best friend Deane, her children Janine Fawcett (Blake) of Winchester, Marc Roy (Amy) of Lagoon City, Todd Roy (Lisa) of Lindsay, her daughter-in-law Jennifer Thurston of Lindsay; her stepchildren Grant Sumler (Shirley) of Buckhorn and Natalie Sumler (Jeff) of Fenelon Falls; her grandchildren Ryan (Janice), Ashley, Chanel, Kelsea, TJ, Laura, Melissa, Marc, Jocelyn, Samantha and Jaxson; and her great-grandchildren Phoebe, Vincent, Skylar, Benjamin, Sophia, Cole and Leah. She will be missed by her brother Mel Belford and sister-in-law Pat Belford; her nieces Melanie Peel (Dan), Sydney Belford, and Emma Peel; her in-laws Brian Sumler (Sally) and Judy Kempson (Jack) and her many other relations.

After graduating from Sir Sandford College in 1990, Milly founded and ran Compass Career Consulting in Lindsay until her retirement. Deane and Milly have loved spending their summers at North Shore Park in Carrying Place and their winters at Tropic Isles in Palmetto, Florida.

Milly made the ultimate sacrifice and bequeathed her body to the University of Toronto Division of Anatomy.

Anyone wishing to make a donation in her memory, the Pulmonary Hypertension Association would greatly appreciate it @ PHAcanada.ca in memory of Milly Roy-Sumler.

A celebration of Milly’s extraordinary life is planned for next spring.
