Marian Barkley (nee Whitteker) passed away August 17, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Donnie Barkley, mother of Kevin (Carolyn), Kendra (Ryan) and Krista (Chris) and grandmother of Maddison, Dylan, Joshua, Jonah, Zechariah and Malachi. Marian was born to Mahlon and Alma Whitteker (nee Casselman) on July 1, 1941. Marian was predeceased by all her brothers and sisters. Marian started teaching at age 17 at Sandy Creek in Glen Stewart, Matilda Township. Shortly after that, she attended Ottawa Teachers College in Ottawa. She continually taught until she retired in June 1995. As well as enjoying teaching, she also enjoyed helping out on the farm. Donnie and Marian had many happy years of travelling after they retired.
