Mabel Grace Shaver Nee Gilroy June 7, 1921 - January 8, 2014

Peacefully at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Wednesday January 8, 2014. Mabel Shaver, in her 93rd year of South Mountain. Beloved wife of the late Marston Shaver. Loving mother of Marjorie Shaver-Jones and Susan Bartlett (Bob). Cherished Grandma of Andrew, Pamela and Victoria. Dearly loved sister of Phyllis Weir (late Keith), Marjorie Campbell (late Allan) and Mary Holmes (Jim). Dear friend of Shirley McEvoy.

Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held at the Byers Funeral Home 2990 Church Street, South Mountain, (613 989 3836) from 10am until time of Memorial Service, in the Chapel, on Monday, January 13, 2014 at 12pm.

    Dear Marjorie and Susan,
    I’m so sorry to know that your mom has died, my condolences to all the family. I remember Mrs. Shaver, fondly, as a teacher at North Mountain Consolidated in Hallville.

    Also have memories of being in the same class as Marjorie.When learning to do cursive writing, I admired and tried to copy your beautiful handwriting. How quickly the years go by. My prayers and thoughts are with you at this sad time.

    Dera Marjorie and Susan,

    I was very fortunate to have taught with your Mom at Osgoode Township HS for several years. She was so professional and capable and and a true credit to the teaching profession. She was so well liked by her colleagues and students and will be remembered fondly.

    My condolences are with you and your families at this sad time.
