We are deeply saddened by your loss of “our” Kathy. We had a lovely, lengthy visit with Kathy in late June following her medical treatments in Ottawa. We left her a message just last week reiterating our promise to take her and Danny to see Eddy and the Stingrays this summer. I actually looked for Kathy and Danny in the large crowd at the Prescott Summer Concert this past Sunday. She was a lovely person, a great Mom, and a wonderful friend. She will be missed. Our deepest sympathies to her family. Rick and Nancy Henderson

Kathy was my childhood best friend from age four on, from paper doll cutouts to playgrounds to tobogganing and skating. We once “borrowed” either Gracie or Sandra’s clothes, stuffing high heels and chest with wads of Kleenex and took the bus downtown Montreal. We thought we looked so cool. Her father Ding finally found us downtown and boy was he mad! Mother Mae was always game for a party, and many evenings were spent with her playing songs on the piano from Nova Scotia and all of us singing away,. thought we looked so cool. I met my future husband on her wedding day.

Kathy had a great sense of humour, was very perceptive of others, kind and inclusive, and forever optimistic. There was not a mean bone in her body. She lived her life to the fullest, and was always grateful. You always felt good in her presence. My thoughts go out to her family, friends, and Danny. May your memories of times spent with her sustain you in your grief. She will be missed. Tania Buchanan.

My condolences to Nora and Julie and their families on my aunt Kathy’s death – and to Danny and his family too.
I will always remember Kathy. She was always fun, most specially when she babysat me and my sisters when we were little. She was eager to share chips and chocolate bars after my sisters went to bed and even sent me (willingly) across highway 40 in Montreal to pick up chip truck french fries. They were really good french fries. It wasn’t too dangerous because it was under construction and still two lanes 😊. I also remember sitting in the backseat speeding on highway 20 with her and her boyfriend…. We got a speeding ticket and everything – it was really exciting for an 8 year old.
I saw Kathy as often as I could growing up. She was always good for a laugh and a drink or two. Once me and my buddy decided to drive across Canada. Being dull witted teenagers we left Virginia in September and headed towards BC without a proper winter coat. Kathy fixed us up by sending us to the Salvation Army for something we could afford. We also somehow ended up with a bucket of chicken so we would not starve along the way.

She was a wonderful aunt and an even better person.
