Peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, July 25, 2011. John Havekes in his 83rd year of Mountain. Beloved husband of Dien. Loving Dad of Joanne (Peter), Bill (Marie), Henry (Barbara), Richard (Louise), Robert (Murielle), John (Joanne), Carl (Kimberly), and Jim (Kathy). Cherished Grandpa of 24 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and predeceased by Benjamin Havekes. Survived by 5 sisters, 2 brothers and predeceased by his sister Ann. Fondly remembered by the Koekkoek families.

John will rest at the Byers Funeral Home, 2990 Church Street, South Mountain (613-989-3836) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Daniel's Roman Catholic Church, South Mountain on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Interment St. Daniel's Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Winchester District Memorial Hospital or the St. Daniel's Catholic Church Memorial Fund.

So many great memories of your family growing up. Remember, as a little girl, (trying to) eat steamed spinach around your dinner table for the first time…(yuck). Your Dad was always such a big part of your everyday lives & I know those memories will bring many laughs & tears in the years ahead. Thinking of you today!
