Peacefully at home with his family by his side on Sunday June 16, 2019. Jacques Thurler age 84 of South Mountain. Beloved husband of Therese (Yerly). Loving brother of five, four siblings residing in his country of origin, Switzerland, Michel (Josy), residing in Canada. Extraordinary Dad of Nick (Lynn), Rachel (Gerry) Westenbroek, Eric (Ginette), Val (Felix) Von Gunten, Martine (Chris) Guy and Oliver (Jayme). Cherished Grandpa of 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and the late Beau Westenbroek. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 10 Church Street, Chesterville on Saturday June 22, 2019 at 11 a.m. A celebration of life following the Mass will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 434 Chesterville, 167 Queen Street from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Family request donations may be made to the Rural Health Care Innovations for the Redevelopment of Dundas Manor or J. W. MacIntosh Seniors’Support Centre. June 26, 2019 at 6:30 pmMes condoléances à la (grande) famille Thurler. Je viens d’entendre parler de M. Thurler aujourd’hui. Je me souviens de la première rencontre avec M. Thurler, il y a de nombreuses années, pour réparer son micro-ondes T.V et d’autres appareils électroniques à la ferme. Quand lui ou sa femme appelait le magasin pour un appel de service, j’avais hâte de visiter la ferme et de lui parler en français (peut-être trop longtemps!). Un bon homme, tout comme ses enfants et ses petits-enfants. Il nous manquera dans l’industrie laitière.
