Peacefully at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute on Friday November 19, 2021. Bill Sylvester age 75 of Winchester. Beloved husband of Ellen (Nee Thomas).  Loving Dad of Adam (Kristine)

Cherished brother of Marilyn Broomer, Diane Carleton (John), John and David Sylvester.  Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews.

A  Memorial Service will be held at the Byers Funeral Home, 2990 Church Street, South Mountain on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at 2 p.m.

By family request donations in Memory of Bill may be made to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute for Research. https://foundation.ottawaheart.ca/make-a-donation/ways-to-give/

In lieu of a Reception following the services a Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held in the summer of 2022.  Date and location to be advised.

The family has asked anyone wishing to attend the Memorial Service must wear a mask and provide proof of double vaccination and Pre-register by calling 613-989-3836 during business hours.

Covid restrictions remain in effect.

    Bill as my youngest brother, we shared a lot of memmories together. Bill fought long and hard, and for that I truly look up to him, he will be sorely missed. We know you are in a better place. my condolences to you all, I was thankful I was able to visit with Bill before he left us. Hugs XOXO

    Our deepest sympathy Great times with Bill and Ellen with Oxford Downs Pony Club . We also had some well fed masonic banquets together at various lodges and a great parade at Upper Canada Village for the opening of the mason’s lodge. We will miss him.

Bill fought a hard battle and was in touch with me periodically to update his condition and also to happily share news about his horses . As part of the Sylvester family our memories of Bill go way back to childhood days and the family gatherings at our dear Grandparents home.

    This past B.dsy,Bill sent along,a card of Cheer”s,i was hoping
    to return the sentiment for new years eve.So here goes,
    Hey brother,its been awhile now,30+yrs. since we sat and shared a cold one!
    Thruth is, years just pass like trains,we wave and they don”t slow down,they don”t down.
    Bill,you rode the good hard trail,Now it”s time to rest.
    If there is more than this,then my wish is you find ,A great big sky,and many open trails.

    I am sorry to hear about your loss. I don’t remember if I have ever met you or Bill. If I did, it was years ago in Montreal at our grandparents. I usually find out anything about the Sylvester family thru Mike Higgins. My condolences.
