Suddenly surrounded by family at the Kemptville District Hospital on Saturday December 23, 2023. Neil Tompkins age 76 of Kemptville. Beloved husband of Helena. Loving Dad of Barry (Dawn) and Ron (Suna). Cherished Grandpa of Aiden, Alex, Denver and Dierk Tompkins. Dear brother of Harold Tompkins and brother-in-law of Sandra MacNeil. Fondly remembered by his nephew Bruce, his niece Tina and his cousin Gail Hoffman. Predeceased by his parents Lois (Norton) and Garnet Tompkins. By Neil’s request Cremation has taken place. A Visitation will be held at the Byers Funeral Home, 2990 Church Street, South Mountain (613-989-3836) from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday January 5, 2024. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Anne’s Anglican Church, 2044 County Road 20, Oxford Station on Saturday January 6, 2024 at 11 a.m. Private Spring Interment Oxford Parish Anglican Cemetery. Donations may be made in Memory of Neil to C.H.E.O. or to the St. Anne’s Anglican Church. Online condolences may be made to www.byersfuneralhomeinc.com

    Thinking of you at this difficult time, Helena and your boys (Barry and Ronnie), their wives and your Grandchildren! We all spent a good deal of time together in our younger days! Neil taught me how to drive a snowmobile and motor cycle, and was like a brother to me!

    I first knew Neil and Helena when I joined the Rideau Valley region of the HASC car club in 1990. They always made me feel welcome and ‘one of the gang’. I am very sorry for Neil’s passing and please extend my condolences to Helena, Barry, Ronnie and their families at this difficult time.

      I’m sorry to hear of Neil’s passing. Our sympathy goes out to Helena ,Barry, Ron and family and also Harold.
      I’m a cousin of Neil and Harold Tompkins through the Nortons. Sorry I was unable to come to the wake or funeral due to health issues. Our prayers are with you at this difficult time.

    Our sympathies to Helena and family. Neil always had a big smile and friendly word whenever we saw him at the old car club meetings. Helena and Neil were good friends to my parents, Blair and Laura Prior. So sad to hear of Neil’s passing.
