May 5, 2024 at 1:34 pmPlease accept my sincerest condolences and sympathies on Frank’s passing. He was definitely one of the greatest gentlemen I have ever known. A terrific role model. I was very fortunate to have Frank as one of my 4-H calf club leaders along with Ed Rose over my entire 4-H career. He inspired my interest in cattle breeding and taught me almost everything I ever knew about showmanship. I always looked forward to meeting with Frank at the local cattle shows and catching up.
I had the honour and privilege of providing veterinary services to Milnedale Farms from when I graduated from veterinary school until it ceased to be a dairy farm.
I am very disappointed that I will not be able to attend the Celebration of Life on May 9. I have commitments that I cannot break or reschedule. There is a great deal to celebrate in Frank’s life. Please accept my apologies.

May 6, 2024 at 7:46 amSo sorry to hear about Frank’s passing. I had such a wonderful visit with him at Sandy Row a month or so ago. I always enjoyed my visits with Frank at the many Holstein Shows. He was a regular supporter of the shows whether local, regional or national. During his time as a breeder and a dairy farmer he supported the many farm organizations and contributed to the success of the industry through his involvement in the Dundas Holstein Club and EBI. The picture in his obituary is a fitting tribute to one of his life’s loves — the Holstein Cow. My deepest sympathy. He will be missed by his many friends in the agricultural community. We celebrate a life well lived. Phyllis MacMaster

May 6, 2024 at 4:21 pmDear Milne Family,
I’m very sorry to hear the news of Frank’s sudden passing. I had the great pleasure of working with Frank when he was Chairman of the Sire Committee for Eastern Breeders in the late 1980’s. He was a very kind mentor and guide for a newly hired sire analyst. I will always remember the earnest and practical conversations with him about the kind of cows that farmers like to work with and the great bulls behind them. He always kept his fellow farmers first and foremost in his decisions. He will be missed.

May 7, 2024 at 6:12 pmTo the entire Milne Family,
I was very saddened to hear of Franks sudden passing- please accept my heartfelt condolences.
I am very blessed to have worked with Frank. Frank mentored Mike Lohuis and I as we started our careers fresh out of the University of Guelph. He was a very wise, kind, humble and respectful man that taught us to always think of how our genetic decisions would benefit the producers of Eastern Ontario. Frank was a selfless leader who people enjoyed to work with, and he always focused on what was best for the producers he represented in his role as Chairman of the EBI Sire Committee. He was a great travel companion as we visited farms together throughout Canada and the US. Lessons learned from Frank certainly helped my career in the AI Industry and serving producers. I have fond memories of Frank and Betty as a couple and enjoyed my visits with Frank each fall at the Metcalfe Championship Show.
I am very sorry that I will be unable to attend the Celebration of Life to remember one of the great people I have ever known. Frank will be sadly missed but fondly remembered for how he enhanced the lives of so many people.
