Bill Albers
After a courageous battle with cancer, Bernard Henry William (Bill) Albers of Brinston passed away peacefully on August 16, 2013 in the Kemptville District Hospital. He was in his 76th year.
He was born on November 8, 1937 at Emmen, The Netherlands to the late Bernard Hienrick Albers and Maria Helena Valke. When Bill was a teenager his family emigrated from Klazeinaveen in the Netherlands to Canada where they settled in Alberta. He later moved to the Brinston area, where he owned and operated Bill’s Refrigeration and Repairs for over 25 years.
Bill will be sadly missed by his wife Alberta (Steele -Richards), son Joe (Irene) of Iroquois and daughters Louise of Cornwall, Sharon Van Bridger (Greg) of Morrisburg and Linda of Cornwall. Bill will also be missed by his brother Ben of Iroquois.
He will be dearly missed by stepdaughters Betty-Ann Jeffery (Allen) of Stittsville, Brenda DeJong (Ed) of Winchester Springs and stepsons David Richards (Kathy) of Chesterville, Ron Richards (Myra) of Calgary, Don Richards (Elle) of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and Scott Richards (Tammy) of Landsdowne. Grandpa/Poppa will be missed by 18 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, as well as 2 expected great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by brothers: Bernard of Holland, John of Nova Scotia, Henry of Brockville, Martin of Brinston, George of Cornwall, and sisters Alaida of Holland, Catherine (Kitty) of Holland, Ann Westover of Barwick and Mary Palmer of Brockville. .
Uncle Bill will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
