My condolences to Jean and Benoit’s family 🙁 Benoit…You we’re my very first director since I am at Elections Canada. We worked together for almost 2 years. You we’re an amazing director. You we’re always there when anyone needed anything and have been there for me since the beginning. I will miss our daily bilats, you always made work my happy place, I was able to open up to you about so many things. I will forever be grateful to have been your Admin. The last time we talked was last week I had called to wish you Happy 60th Birthday, you we’re happy and surprised that I had remembered. I am glad I got to talk to you one last time. Thank you for everything you have done for me, for being so supportive towards not only me but the whole DSD team. I still have no words.. I will really miss you and always remember you for the great human being you are.

My condolences and prayers to your family and loved ones, Ben…thank you very much for all your words of encouragement and support for work-related issues and even with personal circumstances. I will never forget our last team meeting the day after your birthday and you’re the last person I bumped into as I was leaving the office on May 1st.
We are truly grateful for your life and you’re a sweet blessing to many, Ben. I treasure our last exchange via Teams on your birthday—inspired by your humility as one of my remarkable managers at EC and truly admire your kindness even when you were promoted to becoming our director. We will miss your presence in the office, your warmth, your smile and laughter, Ben…
May God’s unfailing love and peace comfort all your loved ones and all of us who are blessed by your life, Ben–thank you very much for being a wonderful blessing to many of us. Your family and loved ones are in our thoughts and prayers…

I was deeply sadden to hear of the unexpected passing of Benoit and my sincere condolences go out to his family and friends. I had the pleasure to work with him prior to my retirement from Elections Canada. Our two teams worked hand and gloved together. He was one of the few managers I could always count on for a effective and common sense solution to the many impossible situations we were presented with. We spoke often about his joy in bike tours and he was so very pleased when he finally bought his first Pelton or his frequent bike upgrades. I thought he was trying single handed to keep Starbucks in business with his extra Grande 3 shot coffees. He was always a calm easy person to work with and he will be missed.

Benoit was one of those unique IT people that could explain things in a way that helped you learn without feeling silly for asking the question. His calm demeanor seemed impossible for someone who drank that much coffee. My most sincere condolences to his family and to all who loved him.

I met Ben, several years ago when he started at EC, and we clicked immediately. He was my work husband and I was his work wife. I will miss you my friend, You left us too early, did not even enjoy retirement. My deepest sympathy to Jean (Husband) and his mom (Ghyslaine) that he loved unconditionally. Work wont be the same without you. Never thought that it would be the last time you said bye to me and told me to have a great weekend last Friday. RIP mon Ben je t’aime beaucoup et tu resteras dans mon coeur à jamais 😘
