September 30, 2020 at 11:48 pmMarianne, Chris and all the family, our sincere condolences on the passing of your dad. I was immediately reminded of Romans 8. vs. 35: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life—–nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus, our Lord.” I know your dad was a Godly man and heaven awaits those who trust in the Lord. Our prayers are with you and your family at this time.

October 6, 2020 at 9:15 pmI worked at Durant’s Flowers a couple summers while in high school and I absolutely loved working for the VanBruinessens. My fondest memories are the time I accidentally drove over the garden hose with the push mower and was so scared to tell John. He said , “oh, well, that’s not good.” As I waited to get yelled at or fired! The next day, I went outside to run an errand and I saw the garden hose wrapped up with duct tape and not a word was said about the issue again! I also remember his love of trains and how hard he worked! I send my thoughts and prayers to the family.
