December 6, 2018 at 5:15 pmSue, Claude & Phillip and Family,
I saw the notice of Gladys’ passing and wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts, along with that amazing woman that I was lucky enough to know through you. I’ll always remember the kindness that Gladys showed me growing up. I often thought of myself as a “honourary” grand-daughter. I remember all of the visits at your home – one where Gladys taught me how to make her “hot” German Potato Salad (I still make it today!) and especially the summer that Gladys let me be her room-mate in Ottawa. Her opening up her home to me allowed me to complete the course pre-qualifier for my graduate studies. She was incredibly gracious, generous and kind….and a real hoot to boot! Love to you all. Sherri

December 9, 2018 at 10:27 pmOur heartfelt sympathy on the loss of a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. Gladys helped us celebrate the births of our sons and was there for all the milestones as they were growing up. We’ve kept the lovely handmade gifts that she gave the boys. She was creative, artistic and a wonderful friend. We will miss her twinkling eyes, lovely smile and stories of a life well-lived.

December 21, 2018 at 8:33 pmPlease accept our heartfelt condolences on the loss of your mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother.
Gladys was always a great neighbour and friend, as was Phil – in fact, all of you, when you lived across the street from us on David Drive. Although we didn’t keep up our contact that much after she moved away, we did think of her often – and did bump into her on occasion! Mother – and indeed all of us, our sons included – still miss her cheerful company.

Mother herself is still a resident of St. Patrick’s Home, where she moved when Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia made it hard for her to stay as independent as she wanted at home. No great fun getting older! We do miss not having her with us too.
