Mathew W. Nelson January 8, 1983 - May 11, 2017

Cherished son of George and Marion and loved younger brother to Kate (Jerrod). Mathew is predeceased 15 years ago by his Dad who Mathew thought of and missed every day especially after becoming a Dad himself. McKenna brought giggles, singing and dancing as only a happy 2 year old can to a grown up’s complicated life. Mathew was his best when he was with McKenna and was so looking forward to experiencing the country life with her-walks and exploring with their dog Lex through the bush or running through a field of hay or simply playing in the dirt with a stone or stick. Kate and Granny will try to keep these dreams and make them a reality for McKenna and keep a memory of her Dad with her. Hopefully, she may remember her high, high airplane rides through the air. Mathew was fortunate to have many good friends, some who doubled up as cousins. The saying goes you can’t pick your family like you pick your friends, but not in this case. Mathew also had his work family with Michanie Construction where he worked for 10 years.

While the loss of a loved one is never easy, it is most certainly the hardest when they are taken from us too soon. The loss of Mathew who has left us at such a youthful age is definitely in the category of those hard losses for which there is so painful a reminder of what might have been.

May the outpouring of sympathy, the kind acts of friends and strangers and the comfort in knowing that your loss is felt by many, help you through this difficult time.

Mathew was probably one of the best dads I have ever come to know. Not only did he fight for McKenna, but he cherished every single moment he had with her and loved her with all his heart. Mathew never took family for granted.
I am wishing the entire Nelson family my condolences during this hard time. He will be greatly missed.

Love, Samantha and the U’Ren family.
