Gladys Evelyn Gates April 3, 1932 - July 1, 2016

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Dundas Manor Nursing Home, Winchester, Ontario on Friday July 1, 2016 age 84 years. Predeceased by her parents Viola & Roger, her husband Bill and her brother Robert (Joe). Beloved mother of the late Allan (Ardiene), Gary (Sylvie), Randy (Francois) & Evelyn (Jack). Cherished grandmother of Derik, Mathew, Jennifer, Scott, Lee, Jessica & Ashley as well as 11 great grandchildren. Loving sister to Muriel (the late Bill) & Sonny (Sylvia). Gladys will be sadly missed by all of her immediate family as well as many extended family members and friends.

Family & friends are invited to Memorial Prayers at the Byers Funeral Home 2990 Church Street, South Mountain (613-989-3836) on Wednesday July 6, 2016 at 2 p.m. In memory of Gladys donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be gratefully acknowledged by the family. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Sampa Das and to all of the staff at the Dundas Manor for the care and attention that our mother received while in their care.     It was with great sadness that I read that your Mom had passed away. I would see her more often since she had moved to the Manor. Gladys was a great part of our seniors here at the Nor-Dun Centre when she lived at Millview Apartments. Thinking of you!

    Dear Randy & Family,
    Our deepest condolences on the death of your mother and grandmother. May the happy memories help you through these difficult times. My mom was Mary who really enjoyed their friendship at Millview and the Nor-Dun Centre. Rest in peace Gladys, and hopefully you will see Mary again soon.

    My condolences to the entire Gates family. Although I never knew Gladys, I see her warmth and love in her picture and that of her son, Randy. Losing a mother is never easy, but I trust you all are comforted by the knowledge she is now at peace. With love and in sympathy,

    Sorry for your loss. My condolences to the family. I have never met her, I wish I could have. Seems like an awesome lady. I’m part of the Dorothy (Gates) Lennox family.
