It is with deep sorrow and immense love that we mourn the passing of Stewart Charles McGaw, of Kemptville, on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the age of 39. Stewart passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, following a courageous and valiant battle with cholangiocarcinoma.
Stewart was a devoted husband to Noor Al-Shaikhly and an exceptional father to Ewan and June. His family was the centre of his world, and he treasured the simple moments they shared together. He will forever remain in their hearts.
He will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit. Stewart found joy in life’s small pleasures, and his strength, humour, and loving presence touched all who knew him.
He will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Dara and Andrew McGaw; his siblings, Wayne (Emily) McGaw, and Erin (Benji) O’Neil; his sister-in-law, Nadia Al-Shaikhly; brother-in-law, Shiraz Kazarian; and father-in-law, Taha Al-Shaikhly. The family is especially grateful for the unwavering love and support of Stewart’s parents throughout his illness.
A special and heartfelt thank you is extended to Jessica Rousseau and Sarah Wallace for the exceptional love, care, and support they provided throughout this difficult journey. The family would also like to express their deepest gratitude to the extraordinary Rideau Palliative Care Group for their compassion, dedication, and kindness.
Stewart will be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts, cousins, and the many friends whose lives were made better by knowing him.
His laughter, love, kindness, and strength will live on forever in all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Stewart’s Life will be announced at a later date.
As per his wishes, donations in memory of Stewart may be made to the CHEO foundation.

March 27, 2026 at 7:59 amCondolences to Noor, Ewan, June and the entire McGaw family. Stewart will be missed, but seriously never forgotten. I’ve had the pleasure knowing and chatting with Stewart over the last 9-10 years when our paths crossed at work, and can honestly say he’s one of few people I’ve ever chatted with about life and family where time gets lost. Stewart was a genuinely pleasant guy to work with, and to chat to. I know he loved his family and kids. I’m really sorry for your loss.

April 1, 2026 at 5:35 pmDear Andy, Dara, Erin, Wayne, McGaw and Al-Shaikhly family, my heart breaks for you! I am so sad to hear of Stu’s passing. My deepest and most heartfelt condolences go out to you all. I forever will cherish my memories (and pictures!) of him, Wayne and Erin as happy and kind children that I had the pleasure of spending time with when visiting in New Brunswick, and again years later at his grandma McGaw’s 80th. It was easy to tell by his smile and manner, what a friendly and kind young man he had grown up to be. Sending you all much strength and warmest of hugs. I hold you all in my thoughts.
