It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Roger Larabie, who passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025, in Cornwall, Ontario, at the age of 87.

 

Born on March 11, 1938, Roger was the beloved husband of Fay Hewson and the devoted father of Michelle Larabie (Erik Perrier). He was a proud grandfather to Kayla Larabie (Wesley Young), Alyssa Seguin (Richard Seguin. Roger was also blessed with great-grandchildren Arielle, Ashton, Madelynn, Miranda Seguin, and late Chelsea, who brought him endless joy.

 

Roger is survived by his loving sister Annette West (Mark West),  Jacqueline, Lilliane, Denise, and many cherished nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, including his dear niece Lise Larabie He was predeceased by his parents, Mable and Arthur Larabie, as well as many brothers and sisters who welcomed him home.

 

Roger dedicated much of his career to serving as a Correctional Officer at the Ottawa-Carleton Detention Center, where his commitment and integrity left a lasting impact on colleagues and communities alike. Known for his strength, sense of humor, and unwavering love for family, Roger will be remembered for the values he instilled and the love he gave so freely.

 

The family takes comfort in knowing Roger is reunited with loved ones who passed before him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

 

A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements entrusted to the Byers Funeral Home, South Mountain, 613-989-3836.
