2990 Church St., South Mountain, ON

Randolph Hayes Arthur Villeneuve June 4, 1931 - March 15, 2015

On Sunday, March 15 we said farewell to our dear dad, Ron Villeneuve, beloved father of Michael, David and Lisa (Michael Watson) — and forever “Grumple Ron” to his only grandchild, Christopher.

Ron was the only child of the late Hayes and Lydia (Lil) Villeneuve and was raised in the Kilmar, Grenville and Hawkesbury region. He later worked and lived in Montreal, Toronto, Saint John, Halifax, Newmarket and Bracebridge. Predeceased by his first wife Eva Vivian Scott and second wife Anne Smith, he finally settled in Winchester to be near family and the country life he loved.

Notoriously stubborn, Ron met his match with the team at Dundas Manor, who rose to the challenge of loving Dad through his dementia with great humour and respect. We will forever be grateful for their loving care and kindness to all of us.

Ron’s remains have been cremated. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 21 at 11:00 at the United Church in South Mountain, followed by a light lunch at the County Library next door.

Interment will take place in Toronto later in the spring when we will host a gathering for friends who would like to join us there to toast Ron’s life.

In lieu of flowers, Ron would have appreciated donations to be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
