Michael Bernard Joseph Sielski 

Peacefully, in his room at the Garden Terrace Long-Term Care Home in Kanata on July 28th, 2026. “Mike” Sielski of Winchester (Formerly Ottawa) at age 71.

Forever loved and deeply missed by his wife of 47 years, Juli-Anne Jan-Sielski, his daughter Jessica (Forest Hutton), and his 1-year old grandson, Wilder-Patrick. He is pre-deceased by his parents Bernard and Helena Sielski, as well as his in-laws Henry and Maxine Jan. Dear brother of Mary (Pierre), Helen (late George), and Krysia (Lyle) and brother-in-law to Hugh (Julie), Chris (Barb), Leah (Paul), and Michelle (Tracy). Cherished “Uncle Mike” to Michel, Jean-Pierre, Genevieve, Danielle, Carolyn, Elizabeth, late Mark, Kate, Spencer, Rachel, Rebecca, Joshua, Janine, Jules, Amanda, and Emily, as well their spouses and children.

Fondly referred to as “Mister Pepperrall,” missed by his many neighbours in Barrhaven. A loyal public servant of the Government of Canada (CRA/CBSA). Avid golfer and bridge player, forever a motorcycle rider, and lover of boating and swimming. He loved fishing, reading the newspaper, playing poker, attending Ottawa Senators games, and spending time at home with his family. An unwaivering good samaritan, school bus driver in early retirement, and a lover of his dogs.

Mike battled for more than 5 years against the cruel diseases of Parkinson’s and Lewy Body Dementia. A special thank you is extended to the outstanding and caring nurses and psw’s at Garden Terrace.

By family request, a donation can be made in his name to Parkinson Canada, Alzheimer Society of Canada, or the Ottawa Humane Society.

Cremation has taken place. Friends and family will be invited to gather at a later date for a celebration of life.
