Suddenly at home on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. David Holmes of Winchester, age 70. Beloved husband of Karen (Koekkoek). Loving Dad of Mindy, Tiffany (Colman) and Matthew (Jessica) Holmes. Cherished Grandpa of Gwen and Theo Holmes. Loved and missed by his siblings Stephen Holmes, Nancy (the late Roger) Fawcett, Thomas Holmes (Nancy Ace), Mary Jane (Terry) Larose, Jo-Anne (Ricky) Grisel, Vicki Holmes and Clarence (Kelly) Holmes. Dear Brother-In-Law of Tony (Mary Lynn) Koekkoek, John (Caroline) Koekkoek, Bev (Howard) Boucher, Albert (Nancy) Koekkoek, Eileen (Howard) Hudson, Ann (Brian) Steele, and Brian (Karen) Koekkoek. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, the Holmes and Koekkoek families, and close friends. He was predeceased by his parents Margaret “Peggy” (nee Gray) and Charles Murray Holmes.
A private family interment will be held at Maple Ridge Cemetery. The family will host a Celebration of David’s Life on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 12:00 noon until 3:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, 167 Queen Street, Chesterville.
Donations in memory of David may be made to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute or Winchester District Memorial Hospital.

So sorry to hear about Dave’s passing. It just seems like yesterday that I talked to him at Tim Hortons about his mom. He always had time for a visit and he always had a story about farming to share.
